Yonder at CODE Talks

By exploring space, material, construction and their interplay, Yonder creates living spaces that shape not only our perception of space, but also social interaction.Yonder sees itself as a studio for architecture and design and was founded in 2011 by Katja Knaus and Benedikt Bosch in Stuttgart.

"CODE Talks is the continuation of our lecture series Live Magazine, with which we have been promoting a broad architectural discourse at the TU Berlin and beyond since 2012. From a design perspective and with a great affinity to building construction, we invite protagonists from the (young) international architecture scene to share with us their passion for architecture and give us a deeper insight into the experimental practices and design processes of their work"

"Another semester in endless virtual and digital space is coming to an end.
The SUPER NATURAL BUILDING LAB invites you to their final presentations in the digital network.

We invite you to delve into the theme of Design-Build in architectural teaching and adventure into the world of future possibilities for activating TU Berlin’s Maths Building. From the TU campus, we will then travel to the countryside of Berlin-Brandenburg and finally dive into Ecuador’s typological transformation.
We look forward to lively discussions and are eager to hear your comments!
The two-part presentation series will be accompanied by an online exhibition via Miro.In addition to an overview of the seven works, the online exhibition will also reflect on the lack of physical exchange spaces. A small space in the endless universe of a digitally linked master class, where all of our extraordinary thoughts, psychic ideas and accompanying experiences are united in a place between time and space."

The event can also be found on the NBL Website:

Friday 23.04 from 14:00

hallo_biologie #1 - A CYPHYLAB LECTURE SERIES

Etymologically ‚biology‘ stands for the study (-logy) of life (bio‑) pertaining to living organisms, ‘ecology’ stands for the study of habitation (eco), ‚eco‘ stems from the Greek Oikos for house. The lecture series hello biologie: Architectural Ecologies engages with the strand of transformation in architecture and urban design that aims at learning from and integrating biology into architecture and urban design.

hallo biologie focuses on
computational biology - in silico - the utilization of biological principles and materials in and for architecture and urban design ecology -  natural, infrastructural, socio-cultural
ecology, artificial ecology, conversational, networked an increasing usage of computer sciences,  AI as novel tools for the discipline in architecture and urban design

hallo biologie discusses
biology as a driver for the development and implementation of behavior logics in the material and computational design process in combination with ecological  and social challenges  and how this leads to new architectural ecologies.

hallo biologie: Architectural Ecologies is an initiative of the chair of  Bio-inspired Architecture and Sensoric, Prof. Liss C. Werner. It is part of the elective „Artificial Natures I“ in the module „Aspekte Städtebaulicher Analyse“. The lecture series is open to the public and will be live-streamed via TU Berlin, Institute of Architecture. All lectures will be held in English language.

Resonanzräume #1 with Turit Fröbe (Stadtdenkerei) + Katja Fischer (IBA Thüringen)

In the summer semester 2021, the DE/CO department - Design and Building Construction, Prof. Jan Kampshoff - deals with the phenomenon of resonance. Loosely based on sociologist Hartmut Rosa, the series seeks to counteroffer a world characterized by the growth dynamics of modern societies. " If acceleration is the problem, then resonance may be the solution" says Rosa - what could this mean for architecture? How can architectural strategies help us to enable a new way of relating to the world, contrary to the logic of increase?

The series "Resonanzräume" offers a discursive view beyond the disciplinary horizon. For this purpose, online talks with 2 guests each from the fields of architecture, music, theater, sociology and philosophy take place every second Friday at 6:00 pm.

For the kick-off, the architectural historian, urbanist and passionate mediator of building culture Dr. Turit Fröbe and the architect and project manager of the IBA Thuringia Katja Fischer are invited. The lecture series "Resonanzräume" is part of the "Akademie des Sorgetragens“, which is being held as part of the exhibition „Sorge um den Bestand. Zehn Strategien für die Architektur“  at the German Architecture Center DAZ.

IfA-X Talks - Kick-off #1: XY in the crisis

IfA-X Talks - A Resonance Space for Teaching, Research & Discourse at the Institute of Architecture

The IfA-X Talks offer an opportunity for exchange, networking and communication within the Institute of Architecture at the TU Berlin.A year ago, the teaching was radically changed and discourse spaces were relocated. In the coming summer semester, four events will take up current topics that seem important not only since that time. The IfA-X Talks are aimed at all members of the IfA: students, staff and professors.

Guest: Marta Carrero Gras, Philipp Misselwitz, Hendrik Schultz, N.N.

moderated by Laura Maria Lampe & Jan Kampshoff and supported by Roundabout e.V.

Digital conversation with Fieldstations e.V. and the German Center for Architecture DAZ

„How about if architects concentrating on unlocking the spatial potential of existing places without building any new ones? It seems paradoxical that a profession thinks about its significance while its core business – the production of space – is questioned. At the same time, however, it is an invitation to expand the meaningfulness of architectural design, in which space itself is the programme.”

Tomas Ooms is talking about this contradiction. He is a practicing architect, a composer and performing musician, leading the design research practice „Studio Tuin en Wereld” in Antwerp/Belgium. He curates the lecture series „Craftsmanship engagement” at the Faculty of Architecture at the KU Leuven.

The event is curated and moderated by Lidia Gasperoni (Fachgebiet Architekturtheorie), Matthias Böttger (DAZ) and Christophe Barlieb (Fieldstations)

The talk will be held in English.
